The Therapist Support Network hosted a workshop on using hypnotherapy for IBS delivered by Michael Mahoney...in March 2009 to a group of about 20 hypnotherapists from Southampton and surrounding areas.

Michael agreed to come down from Cheshire to take this 1 day workshop workshop.

Michael gave an excellent workshop that took us progressively through the theory of using hypnotherapy for treating IBS clients.

Michael provided us with a complete package program to use with our clients over 5 sessions.

He gave us very helpful hints about dealing with GP's and the NHS as this is an area where N.I.C.E. recommend the use of hypnotherapy and as such this makes it possible for GPs to request the treatment from their PCT.

Hypnotherapy for IBS has been quite widely researched notably by Dr Peter Whorwell in Withington Hospital Manchester, with full clinical trials.

Everyone was delighted by the workshop and were keen get started using the method with clients.
